Inter Milan star Keita Balde Diao to miss Senegal's Africa Cup of Nations clash with Equatorial Guinea after country's FA send email asking for his release to the wrong address

  • An email gaffe has prevented Senegal from calling up Keita Balde Diao
  • Message asking for his release for international break sent to wrong address
  • Inter Milan have stayed firm and will not allow Balde to join up with team-mates

Senegal will be without the services of Inter Milan star Keita Balde Diao in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Equatorial Guinea due to an email gaffe.

It has emerged that the country's FA emailed the wrong address when they requested his release from club duty for the international break.

The 23-year-old would likely have started on Saturday, but will be unable to aid his compatriots in Bata.

And despite their pleas, the Serie A giants have failed to be convinced to release the winger.

A statement from Senegal vice-president Abdoulaye Sow read: 'We have sent an email to Inter to inform them of the summoned player.

'But it was sent to the old e-mail address that Internazionale Milano no longer uses.

'They changed their address.

'At the current moment, the player can not leave and can not be called to join us. His club is uncompromising.'

Senegal, though, have already secured their place at next summer's tournament in Cameroon.

Balde is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Monaco and featured for his country in their group stage exit at this year's World Cup.
